Program Teacher Position

Artsy Kids is searching for a passionate and creative individual to join our team as an Art Instructor. In this role, you will lead engaging art workshops, covering diverse mediums such as sculpting, drawing, printmaking, and crafts. Your mission is to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere, fostering active participation and creative exploration while ensuring a safe and supportive space for children to freely express their unique creativity and develop self-confidence. This is a part-time position. Candidates must be local to Los Angeles, California and able to come into office or commute to schools and libraries for workshops as scheduled.

Responsibilities

Lead Art Classes And Workshops

  • Conduct engaging art classes covering various mediums, fostering a fun and interactive atmosphere.

  • Establish practices that create a sense of community within the classroom.

  • Cultivate safe and supportive spaces, encouraging active participation and creative exploration.

  • Implement positive reinforcement techniques to boost children's confidence in their artistic endeavors.

Teach Art Techniques

  • Provide clear instruction on art theory, technique, and history.

  • Infuse engaging and interactive elements into the learning environment.

  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, ensuring personalized guidance and support.

  • Integrate emotional well-being components into the art program, taking a holistic approach to children's development.

Community Engagement and Team Collaboration

  • Actively participate in community events, building personal connections with parents and children.

  • Promote Artsy Kids' mission and values, fostering community awareness through art-related initiatives.

  • Work collaboratively with team members, consultants, vendors, and contractors.

  • Attend company quarterly meetings, contributing to strong working relationships and sharing ideas for future curriculum.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (preferred).

  • Proficient in effective classroom management techniques.

  • Previous experience working with or teaching children is required.

  • Strong knowledge of various art mediums, techniques, and art history.

  • Experience managing a classroom.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in engaging with children.

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Passion for empowering children through artistic expression.

  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.

  • Certification in Art Therapy or related fields is a plus but not required.

Hourly pay: $25 per hour
